Another World Record for McLaughlin-Levrone

American Track Star Sets Fifth 400-Meter Hurdles Record

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has set another world record, this time in the 400-meter hurdles. The American runner broke the record for the fifth time on Sunday, clocking a time of 50.65 seconds at the USATF Golden Games in Walnut, California.

McLaughlin-Levrone's previous world record was 50.68 seconds, which she set in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics. She has now broken the world record five times in the past two years, with her most recent time being the fastest ever run by a woman in the event.

McLaughlin-Levrone's performance is the latest in a series of impressive performances by the 23-year-old. She won the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics and the world title in the event in 2022. She is considered one of the favorites to win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
